Latvia!! What do you know about the Baltic country?

This past fall, 2 of our members traveled to Latvia, and visited countries in the Baltic Region. Claire and Margaret shared pictures and stories of their trip, the people, the sights, the culture, and some of the political and economic challenges that these people experience since they became independent of the USSR.   It’s always nice to hear stories of peoples first-hand experiences in foreign lands. Claire and Margaret shared the joy of their trip with an intimate group of AAUW members at the Shepard Hall in the Santa Maria Library. Margaret had brought some of the homemade bread she’d made while in Latvia back home, froze it, and was able to create a delicious, small salad for us to enjoy, thereby bringing all of us into the land of Latvia.

We are very fortunate to have many members in our Branch who enjoy traveling, and are delighted that they share their experiences with us upon their return.
