November 2013 – …and Justice For All

The Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County (LAFSBC) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) – Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Members of the branch and the public were invited to learn about the critical legal assistance available to the community through the auspices of the Legal Aid Foundation and the Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Attorney Yvonne Cudley from Legal Aid  addressed the services provided by the agency in such matters as elder abuse, domestic violence, guardianships and conservatorships and  answered questions we had on these and other Civil Law matters.

There was also a representative, Kim Davis, from CASA whose mission is to assure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for abused and/or neglected children and to provide a highly trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system.

Both of them shared so much information and insight about the work they do, it gives one hope for the service programs that support women and children in our community.

(PS … Yvonne Cudley and Kim Davis were both recipients of the “Women of Excellence” Awards, given by the Santa Maria Women’s Network in March 2014)
